Sawasdee Kahp from Koh Samui.
Well, the time it took to get here was fucking ridiculous. We got the tram in Bergen at 7.15 am.
Flew from Bergan to Copenhagen 10.00 - 11.00am
We hung around the airport until we got on the 2.30pm flight from Copenhagen to Bangkok (10.5 hours) We then got to Bangkok at 7.00am - Thai time.
We then stored ALL of our winter and wedding gear at Suvarnabhumi airport before we got the 10am flight (45 mins) to Koh Samui.
We arrived at Chaweng Beach Garden Resort at 11.30am - about four billion hours after we left Norge…
Luckily our room was ready and we chucked our stuff on the spare bed, before we went straight to the restaurant and ordered some fried rice. We wolfed that down with a fruit shake before we crashed out for about 4 hours.
We woke up right on beer o’clock and even though we weren’t at 100% a swim in one of the resort pools (The Monkey pool which goes past our front door) and a few beers saw us nearly human.

Lovey was also staying there, and he checked in around 8pm.
We had a few more beers, walked down the beach, had some Thai food and then called it a night around midnight.
We slept in obviously, before we hit the Chaweng Gardens Breakfast Buffet.
Now, any faithful readers out there will know that we love a Thai Boofy, and this one was alright. Fruit, shit coffee, Thai food, pastries, eggs station - all the old chestnuts.
We then spent the next few days, swimming in both the pool and the ocean, checking out the surrounding streets and pretty much relaxing.
The only big difference since the last time that we were here is the abundance of weed shops since it has been decriminalised.
They are everywhere.
Every third shop is a weed shop. They even sell it in the Minimart. There are bars dedicated to it. It was way too much. The number of shops was unsustainable, and I read an article that the new Prime Minister wants it to be re-criminalised in the next 6 months as too many touros are OD-ing or doing stupid shit… so typical.
We hired a taxi for two hours and checked out a bit of Samui. We drove down to Lamai and had a swim and a bite at the beach before we drove to the stunning Crystal Bay. This is the slow (monsoon season), and there are not that many touros here - though I’ve heard lots of Italian being spoken. We finished up going up these steep as fuck concrete roads to the Jungle Bar.
The Jungle Bar is a crazy, beautiful resort and restaurant on the top of Samui. The views are incredible and I had a coconut to drink, Jen-Jen had a watermelon shake and Lovey had a watermelon margarita. All good.
We watched the footy semi finals in the Bondi Bar across the road and of course, had a massage every day.
Bliss, pure bliss.
Jen- Jen and I also went to the Ladyboy Revue at a place called Diva's, We stayed for the first of three nightly shows and this hour was awesome! The performers were all incredibly talented and the miming to gay classics was impressive. Thai Whitney Houston was the best performer but three of the leads were absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. I don't care what anyone says. These were talented, beautiful ladies and we had a ball. (No pun intended.)
Food and weather have been good and the seafood outstanding. Last night Jen and I had as seafood banquet for two - BBQ lobster, calamari, prawns, white snapper (incredibly sweet) blue swimmer crab, corn, salad and potatoes with fried rice. a soda water, a Sprite, and tip - all up 2000B ($80 AUD) Not bad.
Jen also went to an elephant rescue sanctuary while I had a sleep in and she fed and patted an elephant before giving her a mud bath. With the amount of money that she has spent on animal encounters, she could have probably BOUGHT her own efelant :)
So that’s it.
Off to Koh Tao for snorkelling for a few days, before we meet back up with Lovey in Koh Phangan, and then off home.
Talk soon. Kahp.
