London, Edinburgh, West Linton - Days 6 and 7 2nd & 3rd September2023

Up early, Pret for breaky, bus to Liverpool Station, made a dash for the Stansted Express (train staff shortage) jumped on and then went through all of the Ryanair shite, before we finally arrived in the Burgh. YAY!!!

A taxi to the van rental place, where we waited for over 4 hours to get our RV - which is HUGE - then drove to Badgers.

Great catch-up with Badger, Erica, and Fin as we got stuck into burritos, booze and banter! All good. The next day saw Jen-Jen and Grandude up at sparrows again and on the bus into toon.

We did it all today!

Victoria Street, Grassmarket, Old and New Towns, Royal Mile, Cockburn Street, New Belushi’s (epic bar across the street from the old Blue Walls - which is now strictly accommodation, cake, and coffee,) Princes Street, snooze in the beautiful sunshine on the grass, Dean’s Bridge and Village.

Massive walking day, but this is how we roll in the Burgh.20000+ steps!

Bus back to Badger’s before we bid the clan goodbye and then drove the 9 miles to West Linton to see Anna, Graham, Thomas, and James. Man, we love coming here and the renovations have been finished and the house is outstanding. Over a few drinks, we all caught up before MasterChef Anna served up baked, glazed salmon, tikka roast spuds with black nigella seeds, cucumber salad with tahini yoghurt, and black lentil and rocket salad. Absolutely outstanding. Our best meal of the trip by far (sorryPret)

Great night, lots of laughs- can’t believe the boys are 15 and 13 - and we slept in the van for the first time.
